Clermont, FL – & A Cruise

And another thing! About Florida! Cam & Liss live here now. So that’s another reason we decided to come to Florida. They used to live in Myrtle Beach, pretty near the only glory hole I’ve ever seen in real life and also near the world’s greatest yoga teacher named Javier. We used to stay in Myrtle Beach because they were there. But now, they live in Florida. So now, we have to go to Florida to see them. But here’s the problem. Cam & Liss (we love them so much) are FREAKING IDIOTS. We specifically told them to only rent…

Christmas 2019 – Atlanta & Western NY

What do you do when family time in NY beckons, but you are at least a two day drive away – and live with a cat who gets wicked car sick? You secure a site at an overcrowded, overpriced RV park within range of her favorite cat sitter – who happens to live just outside of Atlanta. Yes, the RV park sucks. Yes it’ll make the drive to NY a few hours longer. No, we really have don’t have another reason to be in the general vicinity of Atlanta. But guys… Lucy. Lucy. Is queen. She’s our baby and we…

Sioux Falls, SD (& a ROC Trip)

As I sit here at the second truck repair shop we’ve slept at in less that a week, I still can’t get over what a great month+ we’ve had in Sioux Falls (with a 10 day trip back to ROC sans RV). Our home address! We made it ‘home’! Even sitting in this repair shop, with our broken drive axle & jacked up differential – I just feel so happy about so much of the stuff that we got to experience over the past little bit. Waiting for her day with the Dr. Repair shop? Yeah, we screwed our axle.…

Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic

Around Thanksgiving time of 2018, my younger sister, the notorious K.A.Y. mentioned wanting to partake in a vacation trip of some sort with her beloved older sister, me. At some point within a group text message mess we settled on exploring the Las Terrenas area of the Dominican Republic for a week. So, in February of 2019, Jake, Kay and Kay’s boy-man-friend named Nate and I hopped on planes and met in the Santo Domingo airport. We rented a car, piled our carry-ons into the trunk, and drove two hours North to Playa Bonita in Las Terrenas, DR where we…

Atlanta, GA – sort of

We arrived in Atlanta on a Wednesday afternoon, after dragging ourselves out of our quiet spot in Crawfordsville, GA. We were a little bit dreading Atlanta – the RV park prospects here are dismal (based on past experience). But, we were not dreading the reason for us being in Atlanta: using the Atlanta Airport. Direct flight to the Dominican Republic for a week of vacation with my little sister? NOT DREADING. So that’s a cool thing about traveling full time. If you want, you can just drive your house to a convenient/cheap airport so you can fly to wherever it…

Myrtle Beach, SC (II)

Disclaimer: our ‘lead editor and typo catcher extraordinaire’, Scott Baron (who you may know of if you read this blog with any regularity) recently set forth on a 2000+ mile adventure along AT, where he will hike for months from Georgia to Maine. So, if you find any typos in this post – it’s his fault. Can you believe he would choose to leave us high-and-dry to hike by himself through the wilds of the Eastern US? Yeah – us either. But for real – how cool is Scott Baron you guys?! Myrtle Beach, round two… I’ve been looking forward…

Ditching Dyna: ‘Home’ for Christmas 2018

Christmas. That special time a year when you show your family and friends how many dollars worth you love them. That’s not true – but also, maybe it’s a little true. We decided to head back up to NY this year to forcefully gather our siblings and their offspring into one 3 room suite in the Greek Peak Lodge in Cortland, NY. We were stoked, because for the first time in our collective history, all of our siblings promised to join us, which was super cool. She’s a shit cat, but she’s a great little co-pilot.Pitstop at Winde Jackson Cakes!Santa…

Rochester, NY: Wedding Edition

We came. We hung out for awhile. We got married. Hey IRS! We’re legit now! If you’re not interested in marriage, or photos of marriage, or specifically photos of Jake & I getting married – go ahead and skip this post now. Because that’s what you’re about to get if you keep reading. From this moment on, you are doing this to yourself. You are subjecting yourself to photographic documentation of a really great day in our lives. As mentioned briefly in a previous post – the planning sucked. I’ve learned that I’m really not into planning a wedding. But…

Ditching Dyna: 2 Months In Rochester, NY

On August 1st, 2018, Jake, Lucy and I packed up some clothes and sundries, battened down the hatches, and ditched Dyna in the yard of our friend Jeffy’s parents’ home in Brockport, NY. We popped a few laundry baskets of random crap into the Jeep and moved into a short term lease apartment at the Sibley Center in downtown Rochester. For 72 days we basked in the glory of unlimited hot, high-pressured showers, a dish washer, unlimited unwrinkled laundry powers, and the ability to regulate the temperature of a room consistently. We didn’t have to ‘flush twice’ (empty our poop…
