Gainesville, FL

Florida. We’ve been hesitant to steer our wheels towards America’s penile projection since we first set out on our nomadic journey. It’s the kind of phallus that you have to make reservations in to exist between the months of January and April. And, well, we’re not big on making reservations any more than a week in advance of our arrival. Because then we can’t do what we want. And we do what we want. But, we wanted to explore Florida – even though I was pretty convinced that it was just a smelly, clammy, gator ravaged cesspool. So, a few…

Christmas 2019 – Atlanta & Western NY

What do you do when family time in NY beckons, but you are at least a two day drive away – and live with a cat who gets wicked car sick? You secure a site at an overcrowded, overpriced RV park within range of her favorite cat sitter – who happens to live just outside of Atlanta. Yes, the RV park sucks. Yes it’ll make the drive to NY a few hours longer. No, we really have don’t have another reason to be in the general vicinity of Atlanta. But guys… Lucy. Lucy. Is queen. She’s our baby and we…

Metropolis, IL

When we left Denver, we knew we’d eventually land in Atlanta. Christmas was coming, and Lucy’s favorite cat sitter lives in the Atlanta area. We didn’t really want to put Lucy through yet another long haul Jeep trip up to Western NY for our annual holiday visit with family. She’s succumbed to the woes of car sickness on multiple occasions, and her songs of woe get tiresome after a few hours. So, cat sitter – our next best choice. We leave Lucy in charge of the RV, with a daily dose of love and food allocation from Sarah (the cat…

Denver, CO (Round 4)

Denver, how we love thee. Let me count three of the ways: We have a sweet moochdocking spot in Denver, courtesy of our friend Holly. She provides us with 15amps of electricity, access to her shower and bathroom, and as many Henry snuggles (her Golden retriever) as we can handle. The running from her house isn’t half bad either – a mile or so on side-walked streets plops you onto the Cherry Creek Trail.Denver has both Torchy’s Tacos AND Voodoo Donuts. All nutritional needs are met in Denver.Ample access to mountain related activities, such as, but not limited to: Avalanche…

Limon, CO

There are no things to do in Limon, CO in early November. I’m not even positive there are things to do in Limon, CO at any time of year other than early November. Limon, Colorado We’re pretty good at entertaining ourselves, though. We used the barren two laners for some decent out-and-back long runs. Jake – 8 miles out. We found a Colorado welcome sign. We love us some Colorado. Although I would argue the Western portion is a bit more exciting. We hunkered down, and waited for the foot of snow that was still covering Dyna’s parking spot in…

Salina, KS

We’re rolling towards Denver… but Denver is currently frozen. And, well, we don’t really want to roll into Denver when it’s frozen. Because I am not personally indestructible to cold (my nephew apparently is, and has informed me of this fact on multiple occasions). And when we do arrive in Denver we will have a 15A hook-up. Which is enough to run possibly one space heater. I am a two space heater type of girl. Three if you really want to make me happy. So, we stalled a bit. Hung out in Salina, KS. Salina, KOASalina, KOA We secured a…

Kansas City, MO

Kansas City. Two cities with the same name straddling the state line of Kansas and Missouri. What is where? Hey, the details tripped up our dear president. Which, arguably, is not difficult to do. Ok, no, not arguably. It’s easy to trip up dear leader. But if it tripped you up too… don’t worry. I won’t lump you in with Donald. And yes, I am writing this as ‘Liz from the future.’ A future where we had visited Kansas City (both of them!) months before the Mr. Trump’s flub. Blue Springs Lake CampgroundBlue Springs Lake Campground We settled into Blue…

St. Louis, MO – II

St. Louis style pizza. A reason to live. St. Louis can be made to be on the way from NY to Denver, in case you are wondering. Pizza creation palace And in St. Louis, there lives a magical edible likely non-nutrient fare called: pizza. But don’t be fooled. This shit is not pizza. It is its own creation. Which sort of resembles pizza. And I have craved this stuff on the regular since the first time I bit into that crackery, salty-weird-cheese delight. And you know what? It is nutrient dense. Nutrient dense for my soul. St. Louis has a…

Indianapolis, IN

We’re massively interested in cities that offer a place to plop Dyna’s levelers down within city limits. We’ve found that not enough cities – major or minor – offer this convenience. And convenience is almost always what an RV park/city park/parking lot in a city offers. When we roll into a place within city limits, we aren’t expecting a solid night’s sleep without employing some sleeping aids. EARPLUGS GUYS. SOUND MACHINE. Not drugs. Usually. Indiana State Fairgrounds Indianapolis permits RV docking at their State Fairgrounds, which is nice of them. And also you have to pay them. Which is not…

Erie, PA

Presque Isle, Erie, PA Regroup. After spending months either rolling around with guests (which we love to do!) and then parking longer than desired back ‘home’ to take care of some family business, we three really needed to regroup. And regrouping is what Erie, PA provided us. We rolled out of Owego, NY with no firmness about where our wheels would take us. After a pitstop for lunch with Jake’s family in Olean, NY, we ended our day in Erie, PA. When Erie popped into our brains, we figured we’d just park overnight at the casino again, and then head…
